Goldenwood's cabinet makers work in a family-run workshop at Wetherill Park. They make fitted cabinetry, from kitchens and built-in wardrobes to vanities and wall units, which Goldenwood's own crew measures and installs, as well as freestanding cabinets such as sideboards.
What do Goldenwood's cabinet makers build?
Kitchens, walk-in and fitted wardrobes, vanities for bathrooms and powder rooms, floor-to-ceiling wall units and cellars, and hallway and laundry storage. Any of it can be designed together with the home's freestanding furniture.
The timber joinery reaches beyond cabinets: a staircase, entry doors, a window seat and a home bar are in the collection. Apartment and office fit-outs are taken on as well, for builders, developers and designers.
What are the custom cabinets made of?
Engineered board is the standard for kitchens, vanities and fitted joinery, finished in two-pack paint or polyurethane. Where the design has a stone top, it is honed or polished, templated and fitted to the cabinets.
On any cabinet the timber, the size, the layout and the finish can change to suit the room, and every timber on the materials page can be ordered in. The Meadowfield vanity in the collection is Tasmanian Blackwood, and the Montauk Fireplace Wall Unit is listed in Tasmanian Oak.
Do you measure and install on site?
Yes, for fitted work. The room is measured, the cabinetry is drawn to it, and Goldenwood's own crew installs it anywhere in the Sydney basin.
A freestanding cabinet, such as a sideboard, is delivered rather than fitted. Across metropolitan Sydney the team unpacks and inspects it in the room it is going to and removes the packaging.
How long does custom cabinetry take?
Fitted cabinetry has no standard lead time: the quote sets it, from the scope, the timber and how busy the workshop is.

- Are you kitchen cabinet makers or furniture makers?
- Both. Goldenwood makes kitchens and other fitted cabinetry as well as solid timber furniture, and the two can be designed together for one home.
- Do you make custom TV units?
- Yes. A TV unit is made to measure for your wall, either standing low on the floor or hung on the wall like the Forster and the Ettalong. Where a whole wall of storage is wanted, it becomes a floor-to-ceiling wall unit instead.
- What warranty comes with the cabinetry?
- Ten years on how it is built, and the hinges and runners are guaranteed for as long as the cabinetry is in use.
