Custom timber coffee & lamp tables, made to your room in Sydney.
A Goldenwood timber coffee table can be a low platform, a top on sculpted pedestals or a table built for storage, with lamp tables and a wine table to stand beside it. Each one is customised to your brief: its length, height, shape, timber and finish are drawn to your room.

Can you make a round wood coffee table?
Yes. The shape is part of the brief, so a round top can be made, although none of the coffee table designs shown is round yet. Two round pieces show how Goldenwood draws one: the Soren Round Lamp Table in solid Tasmanian Oak, and the Swansea Wine Table, a small round top on a turned pedestal with splayed, carved legs.
Two matched sets from the collection: Beaumont, and Brookfield Two-Tone, each a coffee table with its lamp table.
What kinds of timber coffee table are there?
Three kinds of build: low platforms, pedestal tables and storage tables. The Strata Platform stands about 300 mm high, built from interlocking solid timber planes, with recessed trays and shadowline reveals along a central spine. The Pyramid Walnut sets a broad rectangular top on two pyramid pedestals.
For storage, the Wattle floats a solid top over an open shelf and a low plinth with two flush drawers, and the Alpine puts two soft-close drawers under a walnut plank top on gently tapered legs.
What size can a timber coffee table be?
Whatever the room needs. For scale, the Strata Platform is drawn 1,200 mm by 800 mm and 300 mm high, the Wattle 1,200 mm by 700 mm and 420 mm high, and the Alpine 1,200 mm by 600 mm at the same height. The size is settled on a 3D drawing before anything is cut.
What timbers are the coffee and lamp tables made in?
Mostly Tasmanian Oak: the Beaumont, Brookfield Two-Tone, Wattle and Strata tables and the Soren Round Lamp Table are all solid Tasmanian Oak. The Hamptons Square is American Oak. The Alpine pairs an American Walnut top and frame with white lacquered drawer fronts, and the Bicheno Lamp Table, two open C-shaped tables that fit together, is Tasmanian Blackwood.
The materials page lists the other timbers that can be ordered in, and Goldenwood also sources species outside that list.
Should the lamp table match the coffee table?
It can. The Beaumont Coffee Table has the Beaumont Lamp Table, and the Brookfield Two-Tone Coffee Table the Brookfield Two-Tone Lamp Table, all in solid Tasmanian Oak. The lamp table's height is drawn for the sofa or armchair it stands beside.
How long does a custom coffee table take?
A catalogue design typically ships 8–14 weeks after you sign off the design.
Questions, answered.
- What finish goes on a timber coffee table?
- Usually two-pack polyurethane: the Wattle, Alpine and Strata are specified in a satin two-pack. If a table is oiled instead, you are told at handover.
- How do I look after it day to day?
- Coasters under glasses and trivets under hot dishes; the care page covers the rest, including when to re-oil an oiled top.
- Can I see the coffee table timbers before I commit?
- Yes: every working timber and finish has a sample board at the Wetherill Park showroom, and chips and swatches can be posted. The Showroom page has the details.
