Goldenwood is a Sydney joinery workshop and shopfitter: it makes and installs the joinery for retail and hospitality fit-outs, working alongside the builder and other trades. That covers shop fittings for retail shops, airport shops included; booths, banquettes and fixed seating for restaurants and cafes; and joinery for hotels. Every piece is drawn to your fit-out and made in Wetherill Park, where the family has run the workshop since 1988.
What shopfitting does Goldenwood do?
Goldenwood makes shop fittings and joinery for retail fit-outs, on the high street and in airports: counters and fitted joinery drawn to the shop's plan. Hand over the designer's or architect's specification and the joinery is built to it.
Fitted joinery is usually engineered board sprayed in two-pack, with stone tops where the design calls for them; it can be made in solid timber instead, and freestanding pieces are solid timber. Nothing is stocked: the size, timber, finish and detail of every piece follow your brief.
Do you make restaurant booth seating and banquettes?
Yes. Goldenwood builds restaurant and cafe joinery: booths, banquettes and fixed seating, timber-framed and upholstered. The collection shows the range: a U-shaped booth, a long banquette with a spindle back rail and a foot rail, and a banquette whose rounded timber shell wraps the seat and back.
None of them comes in a set size. The length follows your wall, the booth follows your floor plan, and the timber and finish are your choice. See the timbers and finishes side by side in the Wetherill Park showroom, open seven days from 9:30am to 5:30pm with no booking needed.
Do you make hotel joinery?
Yes: Goldenwood has built joinery for hotels. It is drawn to the designer's specification and made in engineered board sprayed in two-pack or in solid timber, with every part customised. Each piece is checked twice in the Wetherill Park workshop: once before finishing for structure, and once after for the final surface.
How is the joinery for a fit-out made?
It is measured, drawn in 3D and agreed over 2 design rounds before the first cut, then made in Wetherill Park and installed by Goldenwood's own crew. The workshop runs CNC machining alongside the hand benches. The crew installs across the Sydney basin; for projects further afield Goldenwood coordinates specialist furniture transport.
Each piece carries a 10-year craftsmanship warranty for defects in joinery, structure or finish that come from how Goldenwood built it. The warranty excludes normal wear, misuse, impact, water, heat, harsh cleaning agents, normal solid-timber movement, alteration or repair by others, and use outdoors or outside the intended setting; the full terms are on the warranty page.

- We don't have a designer. Can you still draw it?
- Yes. Goldenwood measures the space and draws the joinery in 3D before the first cut, working from your brief. 2 design rounds are included, so the drawings are agreed before anything is made.
- How is a fit-out quoted?
- The quote is itemised and locked at sign-off. Goldenwood's shop drawings and a production schedule then line the workshop up with the builder and the other trades on site.
- Can a counter be solid timber?
- Yes. Everything Goldenwood makes can be customised, so a counter can be solid timber instead of the usual sprayed board.
- Can we see the timbers and finishes first?
- Yes. The Wetherill Park showroom keeps sample boards of each working timber and every finish, with no booking needed, and Goldenwood can also post a small kit of timber and finish samples.
