Shipping & Delivery
Every Goldenwood piece is made to order and travels carefully. This page sets out how, when, and where we deliver, and what to expect on the day.
Lead time
Most catalogue pieces ship within 8–14 weeks of sign-off and deposit. Larger commissions — fitted joinery, full kitchens — vary with workshop load and the timber required, and we confirm a lead time as part of your quote.
Sydney basin: our own crew
For deliveries within the Sydney metropolitan area we use our own installation team. They arrive in a Goldenwood-marked vehicle, unwrap and inspect every piece on site, place it in the room you nominate, and remove the packaging when they leave.
Free Sydney basin delivery is included on commissions over A$1,500. Below that threshold we charge a flat fee, quoted on your invoice.
Outside Sydney
For projects further afield — interstate, regional NSW, or international — we coordinate with specialist furniture transport carriers we have worked with for years. Freight is quoted separately on your invoice and depends on size, weight, and destination.
Where appropriate, a Goldenwood maker can meet the piece at its destination to install. Travel and accommodation are quoted as part of the commission.
Booking the delivery
Once a piece is finished we email you to confirm a delivery window. Sydney deliveries are usually offered Tuesday–Saturday during business hours. We need at least 5 business days' notice to schedule a slot.
Access
Please tell us at sign-off about any access constraints — stairs, narrow doorways, lifts with weight limits, gated communities, strata-managed loading docks. Where access is restricted we will plan the route in advance. Where a piece must be hoisted, craned, or split for transport, we will quote that work separately before we build.
If you're not home
We will not leave a piece unattended at the door. If access fails on the agreed day through no fault of ours, a re-delivery fee applies.
Inspecting on delivery
Take a moment to look the piece over while our crew is still on site. If anything is not as it should be, point it out then and there and we will note it on the delivery record. See our Returns Policy and Warranty for what happens next.
Risk and title
Risk in the piece passes to you on delivery (or, where we install, on completion of installation). Title passes when we receive full payment.
